Workshops

Kay will hold workshops for groups of 8 or more students, all abilities are welcome. Classes can be of more than one day’s duration if needed. Students can work on their own projects or the theme set for the day.

It is not always possible to complete a theme within a day but student will be given enough information for them to complete the project at home.

Where a theme is used each student will be given a booklet with full instructions on how to complete the theme.

Fees depend on the type of work being taught and the number of students involved. Travelling allowance is charged on top of the fee and there may be a contribution towards accommodation if an overnight stay is involved.

 Talks

Talks on stumpwork are given to any group of people who may be interested from Embroidery Groups to Woman’s Institutes.

All talks are supplemented by a slide show using the latest digital projection techniques. We will bring a projection screen and twin extension lead if your group is unable to supply these. The projector only needs to be approximately 10 feet away from the screen and can operate from a table top although a projector stand is better if your group has one. If a projector stand is available we need a small table behind to allow Michael to sit at the computer.

Both Kay and Michael are involved in this process. Three tables are required, one for the examples of work and two for our sales table. We normally bring about 20 different examples of Kay's work and the sales table consists of books, notelets, kits for beginners, fabrics and sundry items connected with stumpwork.

A flat fee plus travelling allowance is charged for all talks.
