Bespoke framing service Michael

Michael Dennis
Stumpwork & Goldwork
Framing Specialist

I have been making box frames for stumpwork and goldwork for over two years. I am now able to offer this service to all embroiderers’.

My aim is to provide a suitable box frame that will compliment, or enhance the appearance of the finished work for a reasonably price.

I keep a small range of frame mouldings in stock but am able to order other mouldings from a local stockist.

What do you get from me.
Knowing how much care, the attention to detail that embroiderers’ put into their embroidery, and the time it takes to finish, the last thing you want is for the framer to mishandle and spoilt it. I appreciate all of these things and will handle your embroidery with due consideration.

Many embroiderers’ leave the choice of framing and mounting to me. In these cases every care is taken to ensure that the framing and mounting are complimentary to your work.

LacingLacing
If the embroidery is supplied in a ring I will lace it over acid free board. I prefer to lace embroideries and not glue, staple or tape the work to hold it in place. There are times when tape has to be used, and if this is the case then only proper tapestry tape is used that is free of harmful chemicals.

Mount Cutting
If a mount is required, it can be oval, circle, square or rectangular in shape and there is a huge range of colours to choose from. You can one or as many mounts as you wish, in perhaps contrasting colours.

Finishing
A final check is made to ensure there is no dust or stray pieces of cotton, hair, fluff or any other foreign body that should not be there. That the glass is clean with no scratches. Only when everything is as it should be the embroidery is secured in the frame and sealed with tape.

Notelets
Every piece of work is photographed before it is framed. A 6"x4" notelet with a digital image of your work on the front is supplied free of charge with each frame. More of these cards can be ordered if you wish.
